ARTS
The School of Arts at Casvi Boadilla helps our students to foster their creative thinking by working on art education in the classroom. The skills and abilities that we work on in the arts at Casvi Boadilla can be applied to other disciplines or even in their educational or professional future.
MUSIC
Music allows students to develop their creativity, work on their concentration, and express their emotions in a different way. For this reason, we promote the arts at Casvi Boadilla through listening, vocal and instrumental interpretation, and corporal expression. In addition, we detect and promote the talent of our students through contests, where they express themselves and show their talent by singing, dancing or performing.
In Casvi Boadilla we have a music classroom and a dance classroom, equipped with small percussion instruments, Orff instrumentation, keyboards, whiteboards and digital projectors, computers, music equipment… In addition, through their iPads they work on musical composition with applications such as GarageBand.
Our students have the opportunity to participate in the Casvi Boadilla Choir, whose selection is carried out by the Music Department. With it, they perform at events such as communions and graduations of the center, and even perform a carol recital in the nursing homes of the municipality, collaborating with Acción Solidaria Casvi.
HOW DO WE WORK THE ARTS ASPECT IN OUR STUDENTS?
At Casvi Boadilla we start in Infant Education allowing the students to explore their environment through dance, corporal expression, as well as their own body and their identity through the percussion of their body and their voice.
The exploration of sound is also encouraged with the musical instruments available in the classrooms of the centre, such as reed instruments and small percussion instruments. All this is done through games, in a playful and spontaneous way, always under the guidance of the specialized teacher.
Then, they go on to analyze and understand everything they have learned in higher cycles of Ed. Primary and Secondary through musical language and more theoretical aspects related to the subject.. In primary education, different activities are promoted based on the achievement of development of the student, individually and in groups.
VISUAL ARTS
Within our educational project of arts in Casvi Boadilla, we include the subject of Visual and Audiovisual Education, taught by teachers with a degree in Visual Arts.
This course helps students develop their creativity and imagination, as well as their artistic skills, knowledge, and abilities. It also helps to form an agile, productive, logical, and imaginative way of thinking.
Throughout the different school stages, students work according to their evolutionary development. In this way, from kindergarten and later in primary school, they begin to express themselves freely, discovering colors, shapes, and textures.
In this sense, students have access to different techniques and materials for them to create without the need to follow a pattern. They work with watercolors, molding pastes, stamping techniques, waxes… and begin to receive notions in different artistic techniques.
Through this subject, students actively collaborate with the decoration for events and activities that are celebrated in the center such as Grandparents’ Day, Christmas, Graduations, End of the year party…
