In this stage, work is carried out with pupils through games so that, little by little, they discover the world that surrounds them. It is a fundamental stage in the development of our pupils in which they work on early stimulation through cooking, music, expression and manipulation workshops.
They are introduced to reading, work on oral expression so that they are capable of transmitting their ideas and feelings, while boosting their autonomy and self-esteem, body language and habits and routines. To reinforce this work we have a Psychomotor education classroom where they work their body and improve muscular tone. Physical and sporting activity is considered important in Casvi and that is why from 2 years of age we include swimming lessons as part of the day’s schedule, carried out at our swimming pools.
Work on artistic expression is also of essential importance to develop creativity and learn to express themselves with the resources they have at their disposal in a free and autonomous manner.
All of this takes place within the scope of the correct personal and academic development during their time at school where it is of fundamental importance to foster values such as hard work, perseverance, collaboration, trust and respect.
From the time the children begin their time in Preschool Education, the pupil is the centre of the education process and the teacher is responsible for guiding their learning through Units of Inquiry. This is possible thanks to the continued training and the involvement of our teaching team. Inquisitiveness is fundamental to academic learning and personal growth during the early years and that’s why we innovate with different recreational activities to achieve the desired learnings.
In this stage we commit to the methodology of the IBO (International Baccalaureate Organisation). In the case of pupils aged 3 to 12, we implement the Primary Years Programme (PYP), in which the key to our pupils’ learning is research, conceptual learning and experimentation.
We work with pupils on four fundamental elements that prepare them for life in the future: skills, concepts, attitudes and real actions.
Different concepts and knowledge are worked on in a multidisciplinary way. The development of creativity is also especially important in our pupils’ development through Art and Music. We also support them in the sporting activities such as athletics, swimming, basketball, judo and futsal.
By adding new teaching methods to the traditional forms we are continuously improving our pupils’ learning experience. They are IB learners: inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective.
At Eurocolegio Casvi Boadilla we obtained the Primary Years Programme (PYP) authorisation after a long and rigorous process that began in 2015. As part of that, our teachers have received the training necessary for this methodology and they will refresh their knowledge and teaching methods regularly. As part of the authorisation, we also improved our infrastructure with the opening of a PYP library.
