Accompanying teenagers in this process does not mean prohibiting, but rather educating and guiding them in the responsible use of technology. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"> <\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Here are some strategies for promoting healthy digital communication:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"> <\/span><\/p><ul><li><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Discuss your digital habits<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">: Show interest in the platforms they use, what they like to share, or who they communicate with. Listening without judging builds trust. <\/span><\/li><li><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Help them identify risks<\/span><\/b>: <span data-contrast=\"auto\">Cyberbullying, sexting, fake news, and digital dependency are topics they should be able to discuss with trusted adults.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"> <\/span><\/li><li><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Promote empathy online too<\/span><\/b>:<span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Remembering that there are real people behind every screen helps to avoid conflicts or hurtful behaviour.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"> <\/span><\/li><li><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Set screen-free times<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Digital disconnection is also necessary. It encourages family time spent talking, playing games or doing activities without mobile phones. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"> <\/span><\/li><li><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Set an example<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">: Adults also need to review how we communicate on social media.
