Throughout the centuries, courageous and visionary women have been pioneers in the development of science and technology, facing social and professional challenges. Some of the most prominent include:  <\/p><ul data-start=\"1286\" data-end=\"2125\"><li data-start=\"1286\" data-end=\"1492\"><p data-start=\"1288\" data-end=\"1492\"><strong data-start=\"1288\" data-end=\"1303\">Marie Curie<\/strong> (1867-1934): A pioneer in the field of radioactivity, she was the first person to win two Nobel Prizes, in Physics and Chemistry, and remains a benchmark in scientific research.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1496\" data-end=\"1737\"><p data-start=\"1498\" data-end=\"1737\"><strong data-start=\"1498\" data-end=\"1514\">Ada Lovelace <\/strong> (1815-1852): British mathematician and writer, known for her work on Charles Babbage&#8217;s analytical machine. She is credited with creating the first algorithm and is considered the first programmer in history. <\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1739\" data-end=\"1938\"><p data-start=\"1741\" data-end=\"1938\"><strong data-start=\"1741\" data-end=\"1762\">Rosalind Franklin <\/strong> (1920-1958): Her research on the structure of DNA was crucial for the discovery of the double helix, although her contribution was unjustly ignored in her time..<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1940\" data-end=\"2125\"><p data-start=\"1942\" data-end=\"2125\"><strong data-start=\"1942\" data-end=\"1963\">Katherine Johnson<\/strong> (1918-2020): American mathematician and physicist, whose space trajectory calculations were fundamental to the success of NASA&#8217;s space missions.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"2127\" data-end=\"2468\">These women, along with many others, have left an invaluable legacy, proving that science has no gender and that women can be great leaders in innovation and discovery.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1794649 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"1794649\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ae4aba3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"ae4aba3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">DISCOVERING THE LEGACY OF WOMEN IN SCIENCE<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-80729e4 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"80729e4\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-37ad117 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"37ad117\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Our students in the 1st year of <span style=\"color: #e6007e;\"><a style=\"color: #e6007e;\" href=\"https:\/\/casviboadilla.es\/en\/general-baccalaureate-in-casvi-boadilla\/\">general high school<\/a><\/span>, who, as part of their learning, have researched about some of the most influential pioneers in science. Through this project, students have had the opportunity to delve into the life and achievements of women such as <strong>Hypatia, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Blackburn or Rachel Carson<\/strong> among others. In this way, they have learned not only about their scientific contributions, but also the challenges that some of them faced, at a time when women were not fully recognized in these fields. This work has allowed our students to further appreciate the importance of gender equality in science and to learn from the examples of these great figures.
