Why do we celebrate this day? In Spain, Libraries Day has been celebrated on October 24 since 1997. A day created by the Asociación Española de Amigos del Libro Infantil y Juvenil. In addition, since 2019, the slogan “Suitable for all audiences” was incorporated.
Each year, this celebration has a different theme and in 2023 the theme has been “Weaving Communities“, which is intended to highlight the critical role that libraries play in building strong ties within our communities.
The library is considered a key element in IB schools like Casvi Boadilla and the school wanted to take advantage of the holiday to carry out a series of activities to promote reading.
One of these activities is called “Boomerang Books”, a book exchange thanks to a bookshelf located in the center’s hall in which families, students and school staff can participate.
Don’t forget to stop by the school entrance and take a look at the books that the community wants to share and remember that you can share those books that you like the most with the rest of the school.
