Childhood cancer is one of the diseases that has the greatest impact on families around the world, but it is also one of the causes that arouses enormous solidarity. In our school, we have had the opportunity to learn more about this cause and do our bit thanks to the collaboration with the Aladina Foundation and Unoentrecienmil who work tirelessly to improve the lives of children and teenagers with cancer.

EL PROGRAMA ACCIÓN SOLIDARIA PROMUEVE LA CONCIENCIA SOCIAL EN EL COLEGIO

En nuestro colegio concertado en Madrid aprender no se limita únicamente a la adquisición de conocimientos académicos. La formación integral del alumnado incluye también el desarrollo de valores que les permitan convertirse en ciudadanos responsables, críticos y comprometidos con la sociedad.

En este contexto surge el programa Acción Solidaria, una iniciativa impulsada principalmente por alumnos voluntarios que, con el apoyo del profesorado, organizan diferentes campañas y actividades solidarias dirigidas a toda la comunidad educativa. Estas iniciativas no solo buscan recaudar fondos o recursos, sino también generar espacios de reflexión sobre las desigualdades sociales existentes en distintas partes del mundo.

Entre las acciones que se desarrollan a lo largo del curso se encuentran campañas de recogida de alimentos y material escolar, actividades de sensibilización, jornadas solidarias o proyectos de colaboración con organizaciones que trabajan en ámbitos como la educación, la cooperación internacional o la ayuda humanitaria.

De esta forma, los estudiantes no solo participan en actividades solidarias, sino que también comprenden el contexto social de las problemáticas que se abordan, desarrollando una mirada más crítica y comprometida con su entorno.

THE "PAÑUELO CHALLENGE": CREATIVITY AND SOLIDARITY IN THE SERVICE OF THE FIGHT AGAINST CHILDHOOD CANCER

Uno de los pilares más importantes del programa Acción Solidaria es la colaboración que Casvi Boadilla mantiene con la Fundación Piura en Perú.

Esta entidad desarrolla proyectos destinados a mejorar las condiciones de vida de comunidades en situación de vulnerabilidad, especialmente en el ámbito educativo y social. A través de esta cooperación, la comunidad educativa del colegio participa en distintas iniciativas destinadas a apoyar el desarrollo de estas comunidades.

Más allá de la ayuda material que se pueda ofrecer, estas iniciativas contribuyen a generar una conciencia social que acompaña al alumnado durante toda su vida.

Gracias a esta colaboración, los alumnos pueden conocer de primera mano la realidad de otros contextos sociales y culturales, lo que contribuye a ampliar su perspectiva del mundo y a reforzar valores como la solidaridad, la cooperación y el compromiso con el desarrollo sostenible.

EDUCACIÓN ARTÍSTICA EN EL COLEGIO: MÚSICA Y PLÁSTICA COMO MOTORES DE CREATIVIDAD Y EXPRESIÓN

En nuestro colegio concertado de Boadilla del Monte la educación artística se trabaja de manera transversal, conectando la música y la plástica con otras áreas del aprendizaje.

En las clases de Música, los estudiantes experimentan con el ritmo, la percusión corporal y la interpretación vocal, desarrollando la escucha activa y la coordinación. Aprenden a transmitir mediante su cuerpo y sus movimientos aquello que no saben cómo expresar. Además, analizan distintas composiciones y crean pequeñas piezas, reflexionando sobre cómo la música transmite emociones y mensajes.

En el área de Plástica, el alumnado explora técnicas variadas como la pintura, la escultura y el trabajo en equipo con compañeros para crear juntos. Investigan referentes artísticos, comparan estilos y producen sus propias obras, explicando el proceso creativo que siguen y las decisiones que toman en cada proyecto.

Communicating from a young age: a skill for the future

Talking, listening, sharing ideas… These are everyday actions, but also key skills that can make a difference in personal and academic development. For this reason, at Casvi Boadilla we are committed to learning to communicate from an early age as a solid base for the growth of our students.

During the last year of Infant School, children live an educational experience that transforms their way of expressing themselves and relating to others. But the real value is not only in what they learn, but in how they live it.

FROM INFANCY ONWARDS: SEEDING COMMUNICATION WITH CONFIDENCE

At the Infant Education stage, children are full of curiosity, questions and the desire to tell what they discover. That is why we believe that this is the ideal time to learn to communicate from an early age: when words begin to have a meaning of their own and their voice seeks to be heard.

In one of the dynamics we develop in the classroom, each student researches a topic of interest to them with the support of their family, and presents it to their classmates. This process helps them to organise their ideas, to express them clearly, to manage their nerves and, above all, to gain self-confidence.

It is not just an oral activity: it is a learning experience that boosts self-esteem, empathy, active listening and participation. Communicating and presenting does not mean talking for the sake of talking, but connecting with others, knowing how to listen and transmit ideas with meaning and emotion.

COMMUNICATING IS MUCH MORE THAN TALKING

Communication is a transversal competence that cuts across all areas of learning. In preparing a presentation, students develop critical thinking, creativity, autonomy and respect for others. They learn to choose the most relevant information, to explain it in their own words and to show it in an attractive way.

Moreover, working on oral expression reinforces essential aspects such as attention, memory, language and the link between family and school. This whole process is in line with the objectives of the Primary School Programme and the International Baccalaureate, which promotes communicative, confident, curious and globally connected student profiles, capable of facing new challenges with confidence, creativity and an open mind.

En la categoría infantil femenina, Ruth Rodríguez y Nayara han alcanzado la quinta y sexta posición, contribuyendo a que el equipo se haya proclamado campeón de Madrid. En alevín masculino, Daniel Sánchez ha logrado la medalla de bronce y el equipo se ha proclamado subcampeón de Madrid. En benjamín femenino, María Noguera Cerezo se ha alzado como campeona de Madrid en cross, mientras que su equipo se ha quedado a un paso del podio, demostrando un gran nivel competitivo.

That is why, at our school, learning to communicate from an early age is not an isolated activity, but an educational pillar. It is a tool that accompanies students throughout their school years and prepares them for the challenges of the future, both inside and outside the classroom.

LA METODOLOGÍA IB Y SU IMPACTO EN EL APRENDIZAJE

During this month of February, dedicated to the fight against cancer, the 4th and 5th grade students of our primary school have had the opportunity to attend educational talks given by the staff of the Aladina Foundation. During these talks, the students have been able to learn about the difficulties faced by children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer, as well as the advances in their treatment and the ways in which society can support them.

El Bachillerato Internacional ha ofrecido a nuestros alumnos la oportunidad de comprender diversas perspectivas culturales y sociales. Han participado en experiencias que han reforzado la colaboración, la conciencia global y la resolución de conflictos.

Mediante un aprendizaje personalizado los alumnos han conseguido alcanzar metas específicas, promoviendo tanto el desarrollo intelectual como emocional. Esta combinación ha creado un entorno de aprendizaje dinámico que ha estimulado la motivación y el compromiso de todos.

General Baccalaureate Scholarships in the Community of Madrid 2025-26

The deadline to apply for the baccalaureate scholarships for the Spanish education system in authorised private schools, located in the territory of the Community of Madrid for the academic year 2025-2026, is now open. The call for applications has already been published in the Official Gazette (BOCM).

In this way, a firm commitment is made to a policy of grants and study aids that aims to guarantee the quality training of students from Madrid with a view to their incorporation, either in professional life or in higher education studies. For this reason, we invite families to apply for these grants for the 2025-2026 academic year.

To whom are these grants addressed?

The scholarships are aimed at students enrolled in schools authorised by the Regional Ministry of Education, Science and Universities, with the established Baccalaureate level, in private schools for the 2025-2026 academic year , located in the territory of the Community of Madrid.

Application deadlines and procedures

The deadline for submitting applications will be between 17 June and 7 July. It is crucial that families submit all the required documentation within this period, as no late applications will be accepted .

Applications can be submitted in two ways:

Telematically: Through the electronic office of the Community of Madrid.
In person: At the points authorised by the Community of Madrid for this procedure.

The school where the pupil attends school.
The school requested as first choice during the admission period.
The Registry Offices of the Community of Madrid.
