The III Race Against Cancer, sponsored by our school Casvi of Villaviciosa de Odón, was held with great success last weekend, in an atmosphere of solidarity and joy. More than 400 participants joined this cause in an event that took place under a sunny sky, becoming an excellent opportunity to enjoy a family day and, at the same time, contribute to the progress in the fight against cancer. Parents, children, grandparents and friends gathered to run, walk and support this important cause, demonstrating that solidarity has no age.
EXCITEMENT AND IMPROVEMENT FOR EVERYONE
This year, the race offered two courses of different distances: a 4.5 km and a 10 km course for adults, as well as children’s races designed especially for the little ones. In this way, all members of the family, regardless of age or physical condition, were able to join in this activity, whether running, walking or simply enjoying the event as spectators.
AWARENESS IS THE KEY: PREVENTION IS LIFE
Although the day was a celebration of sport and family, the real purpose of the race is to raise awareness in the community about the importance of the fight against cancer.
In Spain, more than 200,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed each year, making cancer prevention and early diagnosis a major public health challenge. Through events like this one, we can help to raise awareness of the cause and support organizations that dedicate resources to scientific research, as well as support families dealing with this disease.
The Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer (AECC) plays a key role in the financing of projects of cancer research, which seeks new therapies and treatments, but also actively works to promote healthy lifestyles that help reduce the risk of developing cancer. The Early detection is another high priority, as early diagnosis can greatly increase the chances of successful treatment.
OUTSTANDING PARTICIPATION OF CASVI ATHLETICS SCHOOL
The Casvi Athletics School was represented by more than 30 runners. These athletes showed great team spirit and a strong commitment to the cause. In addition, they stood out not only for their presence in the event, but also for their performance in the different categories, winning several prizes for the best times.
However, the most significant recognition was the award for the largest team, which they proudly received at the end of the day. This award reflects not only the enthusiasm and energy of the school members, but also the spirit of collaboration and solidarity that characterizes the Casvi Boadilla school.
Thanks to your collaboration, we continue to promote cancer research and early detection, providing support to patients and their families. With your commitment, every day we are closer to beating cancer.
